• Stratigraphic record and the biotic response of Cretaceous oceanic anoxic events
• Quaternary foraminifera: biostratigraphy, ecological and paleoecological applications in environmental characterization and monitoring of continental margins
• Phylogeny and macroevolution of Cretaceous and Cretaceous-Paleogene boundary foraminifera
• Extinction events and patterns of biotic recovery in the aftermath
• Study of evolving ecosystem interactions and dynamics
